We have a new opportunity for a CAD Technician to join our Project Delivery team, supporting the design, planning and delivery of projects across the AMP Group. Working closely with the Design Manager and wider development and delivery teams, the role will focus on producing accurate, high-quality technical drawings and visualisations that meet required specifications, standards and site constraints, while providing technical input to support planning applications and construction activities.

The role will involve

  • Supporting project design work across the AMP group, producing plan layouts, section drawings, standard details and other design outputs in line with drafting standards
  • Working closely with development and delivery teams to understand project requirements, specifications and site constraints
  • Producing planning, construction and detailed design drawings using CAD, taking account of site characteristics and project requirements
  • Developing, updating and modifying technical drawings and schematics using CAD software
    Ensuring drawings are accurate and compliant with project specifications, design standards and internal guidelines
  • Identifying design issues as they arise, determining appropriate actions and escalating where required
  • Preparing site visualisations for Battery Box planning applications using photographs and other source material
  • Providing technical input and guidance on the design and construction of battery box sites and other projects

What we are looking for

This role will suit an individual with practical CAD experience and a strong technical foundation, who can support project teams through accurate and compliant design delivery, and who brings the following knowledge, skills and experience –

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in 2D CAD, or equivalent in design or drafting
  • Proficient in AutoCAD with experience producing technical drawings and site layouts
  • At least 1 year’s experience in a civil engineering or similar technical environment
  • Ability to read, interpret and produce accurate technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience working effectively within a project team
  • Clear communication skills with internal teams and stakeholders
