The BESS EC&I Field Service Engineer, will play a vital role in ensuring our energy assets, including battery energy storage systems (BESS) and power generation sites run efficiently, safely, and compliantly. They will work across commissioning, operations, maintenance, fault-finding, and optimisation, delivering high performance across our energy portfolio.

The role will involve
- Performing corrective maintenance and fault finding following unplanned equipment failures
- Maintaining and optimising EC&I equipment to maximise reliability and uptime
- Supporting commissioning and handover of new energy assets with project and vendor teams
- Conducting installation, surveying, and repair work where required
- Accurately recording data and reporting through company systems
- Providing on-call and emergency response cover
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and personal accountability in HSEQ standards
What we are looking for
A technically strong and proactive engineer, with a focus on field service excellence and energy performance, with the following skills and experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ discipline engineering experience in electrical, control, or instrumentation fields.
- A recognised NVQ Level 3, C&G or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Apprenticeship trained (EITB, NVQ, etc.).
- Experience with electrical LV systems, control panels, VSDs, instrumentation, and calibration.
- Excellent knowledge of safe systems of work (e.g. permits to work, RAMS).
- Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Desirable (or willing to train)
- Experience with generator control systems, telemetry, and telecoms.
- BS7671 and inspection/testing qualifications.
- HV systems awareness.
- Battery storage and/or gas engine generation experience.
- CompEx practitioner status.

Additional information
- Location: Field Based, North-West (within 2 hours travel of Lancashire) UK
- Competitive salary to be discussed at interview.
- Hours of work: 40 hours per week, 8am-5pm with on call and overtime requirements
- Field, company van provided
- This role will require frequent travel to AMP sites across the UK including overnight stays when required
