The Information Manager will be known for critical analysis, investigating best-practice, research and development, implementing systems, improving working practices and efficiency, driving productivity, enhancing employee & customer experience, and road-mapping for the future. They will constantly be asking, what is it, why do we need it, how does it work, how do we use it, can we fix it?

Duties and responsibilities of the Role:

  • Develop information management policy according to company and regulatory requirements
  • Work with the directors, functional heads and appropriate other employees to plan, specify, create and introduce information management systems and software applications which embody the company processes and procedures
  • Specify, install, configure, maintain and support the company IT systems:

Server hardware and software

Network hardware

PCs and laptops

Internet connections

Phone systems, handsets and tablets

Software applications

Offsite ‘cloud’ systems

  • Continuous review of the information management strategy and implemented solutions
  • Manage current and future IT supplier relationships and budgets
  • Maintain good house-keeping and security practice
  • Inform the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan
  • Remain up-to-date with emerging technologies, especially within the realm of security
  • Ensure provision of day-to-day and out-of-hours support to around 200 colleagues

The candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related subject in science or technology
  • Ability to communicate strategic vision, self-motivate, take initiative and assume responsibility for delivery of complex projects
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Full lifecycle development from UML, BPMN, prototypes, etc. into usable applications
  • Knowledge and practical experience of ITIL framework, ISO 9001, Cyber Essentials, GDPR
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, OSI model, hardware configuration, diagnostics
  • Experience of planning and managing complex IT projects, such as office fit-out, infrastructure replacement, etc.
  • Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Internet Information Services, DNS, VPN, Hyper-V
  • Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange setup and administration
  • Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office deployment, configuration and troubleshooting
  • SQL, php, HTML, JavaScript and attendant frameworks and technologies
  • Enterprise CRM, ERP, accounting and VOIP systems
