The Group Management Accountant will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting across the Group, and this role supports our senior managers by providing high-quality management information, ensuring compliance with statutory and covenant requirements, and acting as a key finance partner to budget holders across the business.

The role will involve

  • Taking ownership of the month-end process for Group holding entities, ensuring timely and accurate postings
  • Preparing and posting journals, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments as part of monthly and annual close processes
  • Supporting the preparation and review of monthly group management pack and providing accurate financial commentary on monthly results, highlighting key movements, risks, and opportunities
  • Preparing robust monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all assigned entities
  • Assisting with the preparation of consolidated management reports
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of consolidated financial models, including those used for covenant compliance
  • Preparing and reviewing consolidation journals, eliminations, and adjustments
  • Ensuring consistency of reporting and accounting policies across Group entities
  • Preparing statutory financial statements for assigned Group entities in line with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Owning specific audit areas end‑to‑end and resolving audit queries in a timely manner
  • Reviewing, processing, and reconciling intercompany loan postings and balances
  • Maintaining and updating external interest schedules, ensuring accurate interest calculations and postings
  • Owning Group cashflow forecasting, analysing cash movements and preparing treasury‑related reporting
  • Performing detailed monthly budget vs actual variance analysis, identifying key drivers of performance

What we are looking for

Our successful candidate will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) or finalist with relevant experience
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS/FRS)
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets
  • Experience preparing management accounts for multiple entities
  • Experience in preparation of consolidation accounts and intercompany reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of management accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls
  • Substantial hands-on experience in a management accounting role, with end-to-end responsibility for month-end processes
  • Experience providing financial insight to non-finance stakeholders, supporting operational and commercial decision-making
  • Experience maintaining cashflow forecasts
  • Experience contributing to process improvement, systems development, or reporting enhancements
  • Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy
  • High personal ownership and accountability
  • Comfortable operating in an evolving and dynamic organisational environment
  • Proactive and well organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Commercially aware, curious, and solutions-focused, with the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to explain financial information effectively

Additional information

  • Location: London, WC1R
  • Salary: Competitive, to be discussed at interview.
  • Hours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 09:00 – 18:00 with 1-hour unpaid lunch
  • Contract Type: Permanent
