The purpose of the role is to support the operations of the Service and Heat Supply (England and Wales) and Flexible Generation Service teams by undertaking a range of tasks in relation to works planning, parts purchasing and tracking, stock management and general support duties.

Main responsibilities of the role:

  • Create service tickets and allocate to engineers as required
  • Read incoming service reports and identify and assist in actioning any follow up works as required.
  • Assist with planning on site works and co-ordination of Field Service Engineers.
  • Support with organising accommodation for Field Service Engineers.
  • Generate Purchase Orders for equipment / parts / sub-contractors as requested, track parts deliveries with suppliers.
  • Management of the supplier process.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors as requested, file job reports and ensure works and sub-contracted planned maintenance works (e.g. HV inspections, fire and gas alarm inspections etc) are undertaken.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through provision of continuous status information on outstanding parts and works.
  • Manage Calibration Records and Arrange Equipment Testing.
  • Support in ensuring engine planned maintenance tasks (e.g. weekly checks, 1,000 and 2,000 hr service) are kept up to date for each engine.
  • Responsibility for managing the supply of lubricating oil and removal of used oil from the Flexible Generation sites.
  • Log and manage warranty requests with manufacturers/suppliers.
  • Manage store(s) and van stock levels for Flexible Generation/Engine parts, including critical stock levels.
  • Provide holiday cover for Telford Store Coordinator when required.
  • Assist in providing internal and external customers with job reports, photographs and other information as required.
  • Assisting the Support Desk with incoming telephone calls and emails.
  • Any other tasks required to support the Service and Heat Supply and Flexible Generation Service teams.

The candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Experience with database systems and apps
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Teams and outlook etc

Person specification:

  • Experience of delivering operational support in a fast moving and demanding operational environment.
  • A strong interest in biomass systems and renewable /clean energy.
  • Excellent communicator and commitment to customer service and satisfaction.
  • Reactive and flexible: sense of urgency and knowing how to prioritise competing demands.
  • Initiative to work independently, and work as part of a team.
  • A desire to drive open tasks to effective completion within a targeted timescale.
  • Curiosity, ability to question the status quo and identify drive through opportunities for change.

  • Permanent, Full Time
  • Hours of work: 40 per week, typically between the hours of 08:00-17:00 Monday to Friday
  • Annual holiday entitlement is 25 days. In addition, you will have an annual entitlement of 8 days for public holidays.
