Fully funded sustainable heat solution

Expert care for hard to heat building

Reduced heating costs over the long term

Twenty years of sustainable heat in the transition to Net Zero

The Cathedral of St John the Baptist is benefiting from a fully funded renewable heat solution, thanks to AMP Clean Energy. The cathedral has also taken advantage of AMP Clean Energy’s expert service and maintenance, meaning the ownership and day to day management of the biomass boiler is taken care of.

The Vision:

Norwich Cathedral was feeling the strain and financial burden of managing its 360kw biomass boiler. The Cathedral wanted a solution which would take over responsibility for the boiler and its day-to-day management in the large, difficult to heat building.

The Solution:

AMP Clean Energy took over ownership and management of the boiler, providing expert care and maintenance to get the best performance from the biomass solution. The arrangement reduces the operational time Norwich Cathedral staff need to invest into the heating system. Under a 20-year energy supply agreement the Cathedral simply pays for the heat it uses.

With the 30 million buildings in the UK accounting for around 30% of national emissions, heating is a crucial part of meeting Net Zero. Norwich Cathedral is a great example of a hard to heat building where biomass provides the perfect low carbon solution. By taking advantage of AMP Clean Energy’s expert biomass maintenance, the Cathedral benefits from stress-free, low cost heating.”
